Best Seacoast NH senior portraits - what to wear (Hampton, NH)
Look your best in Senior portraits what to wear - Tip number 2 - Seacoast NH
Oh …Summer in Hampton NH, and the entire seacoast is usually mild temp wise, mostly summer and dry. Pretty much a perfect climate for portraits. My senior portraits are taken mostly 2/3 hours before sunset. Typically once the sun goes down, gets a little cooler even, and allows us to add lots of choices to your possible wardrobe.
So my second tip for knockout senior portraits choices is..STYLE! Yeah I know kind of a given, but what I am mean is YOUR style. Be you, but to the max. Pick choices that reflect who you are, but also show something a little special.
So I always say “grab a basic” first and foremost. What I mean by a “basic”, is Jeans and T, sweater and T typiclal Sunday mall or movies attire, BUT don’t keep it basic. Here Martha has paired some ripped jeans with an edgier punch of color with this long sleeve T. It gives some lovely texture and uniqueness, but still looks pretty casual and day to day.
Make it YOU. Always, always, always make it you. Throw in a letter jacket or uniform, grab your guitar or football, choose a higher end dress, grab a hat you name it. The great thing about senior portraits is we have several outfits to shoot. Sometimes the exact one that people think is too much, they end up loving. Hats are one my favorite accessories to enhance a portrait. It adds style, fun, uniqueness, and I swear when people put a hat on, they come out of their shell…
Lastly..spin it to win it! Sounds odd I know, but clothes that move, move you. A beach photo shoot becomes 100 times better (in my opinion) with clothes blowing the wind. Not just flowy tops or dresses for girls, a flowy oxford unbuttoned, or a relaxed chino just a look of comfort…
The idea is think about what you want to show about yourself. Don't worry about what you have seen in the past. Bring it, we will try it..you never know till you do! Till next week Seniors!
